Job Title: Regional General Counsel - Hybrid Role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional General Counsel to join our team at Scott Bader. As a key member of our global legal team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic legal advice and guidance to our business leaders and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on commercial agreements and contractual issues
- Analyze complex contractual terms and identify legal and commercial risks
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and negotiate effectively
- Lead the legal aspects of contract negotiations and identify strengths and weaknesses of different arguments
- Collaborate with global and international stakeholders to develop efficient and scalable approaches for building multi-jurisdictional customer and supplier/partner arrangements
- Advise on avoiding and managing disputes and develop strategies for resolution
- Manage or participate in legal projects to improve the delivery of advice, compliance, and legal services to the business
- Develop and maintain template documents and guidance notes
- Liaise with external advisors on aspects of commercial, company, and corporate law
- Ensure that processes in the legal and commercial department are continuously improved
- Maintain up-to-date legal registers on legislation affecting the business
- Support the development of policies, processes, templates, tools, and training to meet and facilitate the Scott Bader strategic objectives
Requirements:
- Proven experience providing legal advice on commercial agreements
- Ability to analyze complex contractual terms and identify legal and commercial risks
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the role of an in-house legal team
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a global and international environment
