You’ll be joining at a pivotal time of our Finance journey as we embark on an exciting and challenging period of transformation to centralise Finance globally, support business growth and shape the future of our organization.THE GIGWorking in a fast-paced team for the Global Financial Accounting Manager the Global Financial Assistant Accountant will manage the general ledger for all entities within the DM Group including those in the EMEA, Americas, APAC Regions and the Holding Companies. The team will have a specific focus on Gross Margin, Stock & Opex (key metrics for the Group).As our Global Financial Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for:
  • Own, review, and analyze global postings for Gross Margin, Stock, and Opex, addressing any anomalies. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, control P&L entries, and produce reports to highlight key judgements.
  • Monitor aged inventory and stock valuation to manage obsolescence risks and ensure compliance with Group policies. Maintain ledgers for all legal entities according to statutory requirements.
  • Centralization of accounting processes across the Group, identify efficiency improvements, and challenge the status quo. Promote best practices to enhance consistency and quality across the finance team.
  • Support half-year and year-end audits, prepare required documentation for auditors, and collaborate with global and regional teams to meet period-end deadlines.
  • Foster a positive and proactive culture within the Transactional Finance team. Address issues promptly, flag risks and opportunities, and assist with ad hoc projects to support the broader finance function.

  • Studying towards an accounting qualification, with experience in a similar finance role.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLookups, pivot tables) and experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365) is highly desirable, especially in retail, multi-currency, and multi-site environments.
  • Problem-solving abilities, keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to improving processes.
  • Good grasp of business processes and the importance of accurate ledger postings.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, support team members, and communicate issues clearly to colleagues at all levels.
