About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Preparation Technician to join our team at Rubber Duck Cars in Guildford. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our vehicles are thoroughly prepared for sale, meeting the highest standards of quality and safety.

Main Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Carry out routine maintenance and repair tasks on our vehicles, utilizing your technical knowledge and expertise to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standard.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Utilize modern diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults, ensuring that our vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
  • Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to our workshop processes, ensuring that we are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Systems: Work on electrical and mechanical systems, inspecting components for wear and tear, and repairing or replacing parts as necessary.
  • Quality Control: Check vehicle subsystems to ensure that they are functioning correctly, and liaise with customers to resolve any issues.
  • Team Support: Support other technicians in the workshop, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
Requirements
  • Technical Knowledge: The knowledge to use modern diagnostic equipment and the capability of working to the highest quality standards.
  • Communication Skills: Great team player and communication skills, with the ability to maintain high standards of house-keeping.
  • Experience: Prior experience in working to efficiency targets, with a full UK driving license and experience within a main automotive dealer (preferable).
  • Certifications: VOSA-approved MOT tester an advantage, but not essential. Must hold Level 2 / Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair NVQ or equivalent.
