Position Overview

As a Maintenance Technician, you will deliver essential engineering support on-site to minimize equipment downtime and ensure the operational availability of automated systems.

Your professional engineering approach and dedication to service excellence will empower you to assist the shift team, employing a diverse skill set to proactively enhance performance and reliability.

Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to the Engineering Shift Manager and will receive mentorship from the Senior Engineer. The position operates on a rotating shift pattern of four days on and four days off.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform both preventative and corrective maintenance on all automated equipment.
  • Execute planned and reactive repairs on automated material handling systems, including conveyors and robotics.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Respond promptly to automation failures to minimize downtime.
  • Prioritize system issues to optimize equipment uptime and availability.
  • Document all maintenance activities using CMMS and Microsoft software.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations as a primary focus.
  • Assist in the delivery, installation, commissioning, and testing of system upgrades.
  • Maintain optimal levels of spare parts on-site.
  • Support site meetings as necessary.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior team members.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a recognized Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC, or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with automated material handling systems.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Proficient in interpreting mechanical, electrical, and electronic technical manuals and drawings.
  • Demonstrated competence in health and safety practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic understanding of control systems and techniques.
  • Able to work effectively in time-sensitive environments.
  • Strong time management and workload prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
