Maintenance Technician

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to provide site-based engineering support to minimize downtime and ensure uptime and availability of the installed automated equipment on site. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of all onsite automated equipment.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of all onsite automated equipment.
* Carry out planned repairs and reactive repairs of automated material handling equipment including, tote conveyors, spiral conveyors, sorters, shuttles and robotics.
* Fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical and/or electrical faults.
* Respond to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner ensuring minimal downtime.
* Prioritize system faults and optimize uptime and availability of onsite automated equipment.
* Complete all reports in line with requirements using CMMS and Microsoft software packages.
* Comply with health and safety legislation as priority focus.
* Participate in the delivery, installation, commissioning and testing of upgrades and enhancements.
* Ensure optimum levels of onsite spare parts are maintained.
* Support site meetings as required.
* Mentor, train and advise junior members of the team.
**Requirements**
* Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC or equivalent qualification in engineering discipline [multiskilled preferable].
* Experience of working with automated material handling systems.
* Ability to work at height.
* Capable of understanding Mechanical, Electrical and/or Electronic technical manuals and drawings.
* Proven competence in H&S.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Basic understanding of control systems and techniques.
* Ability to work in a time critical environment.
* Effective time and workload management skills.
* PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
