About the Role

The Macmillan Neuro-oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist team at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital is seeking a skilled individual to join their team as a Macmillan Neuro-oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic care and support to patients with brain and rare central nervous system tumours, pituitary tumours, skull base tumours, and spinal tumours.
  • Work closely with consultant neurosurgeons, oncologists, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive service.
  • Develop and implement services for neuro-oncology patients and their carers, in collaboration with the team.
  • Provide face-to-face and telephone advice and support to patients undergoing neuro-oncology treatment.
  • Conduct holistic needs assessments for patients undergoing neuro-oncology treatment.
Requirements
  • Post-basic qualification in neurosciences (neurosurgery or neurology) or relevant subject.
  • Relevant post-registration experience at band 5 or above in neurosciences, cancer, or palliative care.
  • Experience of multi-professional working, teaching, and audit and research.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills.
