Job Title: Financial Director

Think Accountancy and Finance is seeking an experienced Financial Director to lead the finance team and drive business growth.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the finance department's day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely billing, and collections, as well as conducting thorough financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the finance department's operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and manage the company's budget and forecasts, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the company's cash flow, including the invoice discounting facility, to ensure cash is available for operational needs.
  • Administer and manage the company's credit insurance policy.
  • Monitor and manage the company's financial risk, including interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk.
  • Ensure all financial statements, tax returns, and other financial documents are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Manage HMRC submissions for PAYE and VAT.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the management team to ensure sound financial decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification is highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior financial management role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience managing an invoice discounting facility.
  • Experience administering and managing credit insurance policies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial software systems.
