Medical Services Secretary

The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to a multi-disciplinary team, including the management of information systems and the coordination of the clinical referral system.

Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to a multi-disciplinary team, including the management of information systems and the coordination of the clinical referral system.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, patients, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of administrative policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative services.
- RSA3/SVQ3/NC in Secretarial Studies or equivalent.
- Proficient IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and work on own initiative.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Minimum requirement of two years secretarial experience in an equivalent position.
- Busy medical environment experience.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change.
- Audiotyping skills.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 37 hours per week. The role will be based in Medical Services within University Hospital Hairmyres.
