The Role

The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to a multi-disciplinary team, including the management of information systems and the coordination of the clinical referral system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to a multi-disciplinary team, including the management of information systems and the coordination of the clinical referral system.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, patients, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of administrative policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative services.
Requirements
  • RSA3/SVQ3/NC in Secretarial Studies or equivalent.
  • Proficient IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and work on own initiative.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Minimum requirement of two years secretarial experience in an equivalent position.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Busy medical environment experience.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change.
  • Audiotyping skills.
Contract Type and Location

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 37 hours per week. The role will be based in Medical Services within University Hospital Hairmyres.
