About the Role
The post holder will provide a comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to a multi-disciplinary team, including the management of information systems and the coordination of the clinical referral system.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the medical team, including managing information systems and coordinating clinical referrals.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff, responding to queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of administrative procedures and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- RSA3/SVQ3/NC in Secretarial Studies or equivalent.
- Proficient IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and work on own initiative.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Minimum requirement of two years secretarial experience in an equivalent position.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Busy medical environment experience.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change.
- Audiotyping skills.
Contract Type and Location
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 37 hours per week, based in Medical Services within University Hospital Hairmyres.
