About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Quality Engineer to join our dedicated Automotive team at Aflex. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will collaborate with our global customer base, supplying to markets such as passenger vehicles, motorsport, performance, and aftermarket, through the world's leading brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will have APQP cradle-to-grave responsibility for Automotive business enquiries, liaising with all departments within the organisation to achieve goals.
  • You will lead on implementing effective use and maintenance of core tools (Control Plan, PFMEA, MSA, PPAP, SOPs).
  • Using your experience, you will manage customer complaints through investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement projects, whilst administering 8D reports and customer communication.
  • You will carry out FMEA reviews as part of a multi-functional team and collaborate on action plans to reduce risk.
  • You will collaborate with our quality team to carry out internal, process, and product audits in accordance with schedules and provide assistance as and when required when external audits are being conducted.
  • You will have direct communication with the automotive customers and carry out customer site visits, as necessary.
  • You will monitor customer satisfaction to provide opportunities for universal improvement.
  • Using your knowledge, you will provide interpretation of standards and legislation and provide necessary supporting documentation and certification.
  • You will use your leadership and project management skills to work closely with the production team to highlight and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Significant experience working as a quality engineer in the Automotive sector.
  • Core tools trained.
  • IATF 16929 internal auditor trained.
  • Top-level contract review experience.
  • Engineering/manufacturing background.
  • Ability to manage work priorities.
  • Excellent communication, rapport-building, and people skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
