We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Internal Controls. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the Group's financial, operational, and compliance control environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the creation of a new Internal Controls team and leading the implementation, enhancement, ongoing monitoring, and reporting of financial, operational, and compliance controls across multiple business areas.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Monitor Control Framework: Develop and maintain the Group's control framework across finance and operational business areas, ensuring it is aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Control Testing and Review: Develop and deliver a control testing program for the Group's financial, reporting, operational, and compliance controls, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Process Improvement: Oversee the end-to-end review of business processes, identifying areas for automation, process, controls, and governance improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Reporting and Communication: Deliver clear and concise reporting to senior management and Board committees, articulating findings and impact on the business.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead discussions with key internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and support on internal control and operational best practices.
- Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience in a similar risk, internal control, or audit role, ideally within a regulated industry.
- Skills: Critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Personal Qualities: Adaptability, resilience, and a strong sense of integrity.
