Head of Technology Governance

At Primark, we're looking for a seasoned leader to join our Technology team as Head of Technology Governance. This is a key role that will play a critical part in shaping the future of our technology strategy.

About the Role

The Head of Technology Governance will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust governance framework that ensures our technology teams operate with transparency and credibility. This will involve working closely with our Chief Technology Security & Risk Officer to create a trusted Primark Tech brand.

You'll also be responsible for managing and coordinating all Security & Risk (S&R) functional priorities, including strategic planning initiatives, board reporting, communications, metrics, financials, value opportunities, and programme deliverables. Additionally, you'll oversee the transformation of the S&R function and drive effective governance, risk management, and compliance practices across Primark Tech.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll collaborate with different teams and stakeholders to achieve our technology goals. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Acting as the principal aide to the CTSRO to coordinate activities in support of functional and broader technology priorities
  • Developing a Primark Tech governance framework that enables teams to respond quickly to change and deliver while demonstrating credibility and compliance to policy and process
  • Ensuring Technology teams are aware of all policies and processes that are to be adhered to, working closely with policy owners to ensure they are fit for purpose for Primark Tech
  • Developing standardised reporting packs and frameworks to ensure all external messaging is consistent and of quality
  • Effectively driving written communication with assurance providers, such as audit committees, to provide updates on S&R, as well as broader technology initiatives
  • Creating the overall S&R strategy and ensuring it is aligned with the organisation's objectives and risk appetite
What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone with:

  • Extensive leadership experience undertaking roles with dynamic and varying responsibilities
  • An ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily understood, authoritative, and actionable manner
  • Experience of developing and executing transformational strategies
  • An understanding of cybersecurity and Tech GRC fundamentals, familiarity with frameworks such as ISO, NIST, and GDPR
  • Excellent presentation skills, especially with senior executive audiences
  • The accessibility and ability to interface with, and gain the respect of, stakeholders at all levels and roles in the company
