Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Paediatric Consultant to join our team at Whittington Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology and be able to provide high-quality services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist care to children and young people with diabetes and endocrinology-related conditions
  • Lead daily morning handovers and conduct or supervise ward rounds
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers of children on the ward
  • Supervise and educate junior doctors and medical students
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teaching and training activities
Working Arrangements

The post holder will work a 9-programmed activity (PA) timetable, with a variable number of clinics per week. The post holder will be expected to be on site until 9pm on weekday on-call and will have a 1 in 11 weekend on-call commitment.

Requirements
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register
  • Experience in diabetes and endocrinology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
