Locum Consultant Paediatrician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Paediatric Consultant to join our team at Whittington Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology and be able to provide high-quality services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical care to children and young people with a range of medical conditions, including diabetes and endocrinology.
- Lead daily morning handovers and conduct or supervise ward rounds, ensuring effective communication with parents and trainees.
- Take responsibility for all admissions to Ifor ward and the paediatric ambulatory care unit.
- Supervise and educate middle grades and trainees in general paediatrics, promoting a culture of excellence in training and development.
The successful candidate will work a 1-year fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave. The timetable will comprise 9 programmed activities (PAs), with job plans annualized. The post holder will be expected to work a 1 in 11 on-call commitment, with weekends split between on-site and non-resident duties.
Requirements- Eligibility for inclusion on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register or within six months of completing Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
- Strong interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology, with experience in these areas highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
