Job Summary

CBSButler is seeking a highly skilled Stress Engineer to join our Design team in the Aerospace & Defence industry. As a Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing new and existing rocket motor systems, including structural and thermal analysis using FEA software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural and thermal analysis of rocket motor systems using FEA software such as Abaqus and Altair-Hyperworks.
  • Develop and implement software and programming techniques, including Fortran and Matlab, to support analysis and design activities.
  • Conduct rheological analysis of material testing results and provide advice to the technical community for validation and verification of FEA models.
  • Develop motor structural test plans and participate in the delivery and assessment of structural testing results.
  • Act as the structural performance technical authority for assigned projects, including supporting project customer meetings, project investigations, design reviews, and corresponding customer stress engineers.
  • Deliver key project documentation, including structural analysis and structural test plans and reports, and structural design records.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural, or another related discipline such as Material Science.
  • Strong knowledge of material science and experience with CAD modelling.
  • Proficient in the use of ABAQUS software in a professional or academic environment.
