Package Overview:
- Position: Children's Residential Service Manager
- Location: Huddersfield
- Compensation: Approximately £50,000 plus performance-related incentives.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday (with additional safeguarding and on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis)
Position Summary:
Job Role: Residential Care Team Leader

As a Team Leader, you will motivate and guide your team of caregivers, ensuring exceptional standards of care for the children entrusted to you. In return, you will receive support from experienced managers and senior leaders to help you achieve your objectives and those of the children in your care.
Core Responsibilities:
You will oversee two residential homes and manage a team of up to 12 staff members. Working collaboratively with the management team, you will ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to the children under our supervision. Your role will involve creating a stable and nurturing environment for vulnerable and challenging children and young people who have experienced trauma and neglect, enabling them to flourish.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating, supervising, coaching, and developing a team of staff to establish and maintain high standards of care.
- Identifying individual training and development needs through practice observation.
- Conducting staff appraisals and ensuring that training and development plans are effectively monitored and achieved.
Requirements:
- A genuine commitment to transforming a child's life.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Children and Young People's workforce.
- A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in residential child care within the last 5 years.
- At least 1 year of experience in supervising and managing a team.
- A willingness to pursue a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care if not already obtained.
