Job Title: Trainee Data Centre Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Trainee Data Centre Supervisor. As a key member of our Infrastructure Support Services team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of day-to-day activities for all campus sites.
  • Work with client Site Leads and Service Delivery Managers to improve operational systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Perform tasks such as racking of servers, restacking of equipment, decommissioning of equipment, and removal of redundant infrastructure.
  • Connect network patching to servers and other equipment, label servers and equipment, and install power distribution units.
  • Interface with Corporate Real Estate on mechanical and electrical provisioning, and perform technology component swaps.
  • Conduct technology room inspections, alarm investigation assistance, and identification of redundant technology infrastructure.
  • Escort and supervise activities within technology rooms, review and assign work orders, and perform data quality checks.
  • Coordinate project management activities, sequence tasks, and provide oversight as part of the 3C's program.
  • Carry out regular control assessments, provide governance oversight, and perform cable installation services.
  • Manage patching within equipment cabinets, label cabling, and supervise and QA for all cabling installs.
  • Recover unused circuits, update client cable management inventory systems, and perform cable tracing activities.
  • Provide on-site specialist cabling resources, update records in asset management systems, and verify asset management system records.
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership skills and experience.
  • Flexibility with shift timings.
  • Self-starter, organized, detailed-oriented, and good communication skills.
  • A keen interest in information technology as a career.
  • Prioritization skills and multitasking ability.
  • Ability to learn and implement complex change management and service delivery processes.
  • Willingness to complete overtime and travel between sites and abroad if required.
  • Current clean driving license and own transport.
  • Clear DBS check.
  • No CCJs or Bankruptcy for client vetting process.
