Planning Manager

Mace is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join our team. As a Planning Manager, you will be responsible for providing and maintaining a comprehensive planning framework and service for major projects, multi-project portfolios, or business areas.
Key Responsibilities- Advocate for Mace's value of safety first and lead exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards.
- Manage the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
- Support the long-term success of planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs and the overall contribution to the broader company goals.
- Develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with clients and other project stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Implement planning principles within the project management community and work with large ranges of stakeholders.
- Plan complicated infrastructure projects and summarise these into portfolio-level schedules.
- Exposure to working as a Primavera P6 project planner on large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally for a tier 1 contractor or a client-side consultancy.
- A construction-related degree (civil/structural engineering, or construction/project management or equivalent).
- Digitally savvy, with the ability to build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
- Experience of working on large projects/programmes and mentoring and upskilling of inexperienced planners.
- Familiarisation with P6 EPPM (Web) for config management, schedule import and export, baseline control and config, and management of large data sets into simple reporting formats.
- NEC, construction, living accommodation, offices, workshops, sports facilities, associated infrastructure, and other planning software (Microsoft Project, Asta Power Project).
- Schedule risk analysis (QSRA), P6 configuration management, user access, OBS creation and management, user profiles, OBS assignation, and set up and use of resources.
- Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise, strong commercial and financial acumen, leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams, and experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
