Lead Site Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with primary alliance partners and subcontractors to ensure seamless communication.
- Take initiative in establishing the project site and overseeing the overall execution of the project while providing support to the team and management as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow team members to enhance their performance and contributions.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and third parties, including landowners.
- Document site activities accurately, noting any discrepancies or challenges, and relay feedback to supervisors.
- Assist in coordinating project design and disseminating relevant documentation for site operations.
- Assume specific site responsibilities as determined by the project, including management of permits to work.
- Be prepared to undertake site coordination and subcontract management roles based on your expertise and experience as defined by the project management team.
- Facilitate communication among various site disciplines and subcontract managers to ensure smooth operations.
- Support the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of formal Quality Assurance/Quality Control documentation on site, including Inspection Test Plans and Check Sheets.
- Assist in the organization and coordination of regular mandatory and regulatory inspections for the project, such as SHE, LOLER, and PUWER.
- Help develop, monitor, and report on 5-6 week look-ahead schedules, including input from the supply chain and other stakeholders.
- As needed, prepare or approve and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements for directly managed works.
- Plan and procure necessary materials and equipment for site operations, ensuring efficient usage and stock maintenance while providing timely feedback on any issues.
- Oversee direct reports, evaluating their performance, responsibilities, and supporting their professional growth.
- Ensure all engineering, measurement, and subcontract works comply with contract conditions and requirements.
- Encourage continuous improvement in all activities and share best practices within the project and the broader industry.
- Participate in or organize weekly coordination, progress, and resource meetings as required.
- Monitor and enhance SHE performance, ensuring adherence to all health and safety regulations.
- Play a crucial role in managing and communicating changes effectively.
Qualifications:
- In-depth technical knowledge of construction methodologies and industry best practices.
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles.
- Experience in civil or mechanical construction.
- Degree or HNC level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in Design Management.
- Possession of a relevant CSCS Card.
- Valid Driving License.
- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental Management.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Document Control Systems).
