Job Overview

We are seeking a Tax Compliance Supervisor to enhance our Retail division. This position is crucial for ensuring that the L&G Retail operations meet all necessary tax obligations related to the various products and services we provide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tax compliance protocols that align with the overarching Group Tax Strategy and legal requirements, ensuring the Retail division meets all tax obligations.
  • Oversee existing tax compliance processes within Retail, ensuring that all operational and product tax responsibilities are effectively managed.
  • Ensure that all personnel in affected areas of Retail fully comprehend and comply with operational and product tax obligations.
  • Identify and manage key tax risks within Retail, ensuring they are addressed through a robust governance framework; report any significant breaches to the Head of Tax Oversight or Group Tax as necessary.
  • Assist with inquiries from the Retail division or Group Tax, implementing recommendations to enhance tax compliance where appropriate.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of tax legislation relevant to the retail sector, collaborating closely with the central Group Tax team for guidance on interpreting HMRC regulations.
  • Work alongside the Head of Tax Oversight to ensure that all Retail products and propositions comply with tax requirements, catering to the needs and expectations of our target market customers.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Professional qualifications from recognized bodies such as the Chartered Insurance Institute or CFA UK, which are advantageous for this role.
  • A solid understanding of the financial services landscape and its regulatory requirements.
  • The ability to gather and analyze relevant data to support informed decision-making.
  • Proven experience in communicating complex technical issues clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in providing guidance and support to various teams.
  • Strong skills in prioritization, planning, and managing multiple tasks or assignments.
  • The capability to foresee potential issues and develop strategies to mitigate them.
