RINA is seeking a Senior Consultant in Renewable Energy - Solar PV to enhance our Consulting Country UK Division. This role is primarily based in our Brighton office, with flexibility for hybrid or remote arrangements for the ideal candidate.
Role Summary
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering Independent / Owner's Engineering services for solar and wind initiatives globally. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with RINA teams worldwide, allowing for the expansion of both technical and consultancy expertise. Our work environment fosters rapid knowledge acquisition and experience, enabling individuals to pursue either managerial or technical career paths within RINA.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Independent / Owner's Engineering projects for solar and wind energy developers, including potential hybrid projects with energy storage and diesel generation.
- Deliver technical engineering assistance throughout all phases of project development.
- Evaluate project designs, contractual documents, environmental assessments, planning permissions, health and safety reports, grid offers, and connection agreements.
- Manage the preparation, coordination, and evaluation of EPC/TSA/BoP tenders.
- Assist developers during contract negotiations.
- Prepare and assess both technical and non-technical reports.
- Supervise contractors and construction activities.
- Facilitate effective communication within the project team through people and project management.
- Lead commercial initiatives, including proposal development and client presentations.
- Demonstrated experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly within a technical consultancy, project development, or Independent Power Producer (IPP) environment.
- Experience in Independent / Owner's Engineering and due diligence projects.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to lead project teams.
- Degree in engineering or a relevant technical field.
- Strong understanding of the development, construction, operation, and financing of renewable energy assets.
- In-depth knowledge of at least one technology related to onshore wind or solar PV.
