Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR and Payroll Operations Specialist to join our team at the UK Atomic Energy Authority. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll system processes for all employees within our ERP system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage payroll system processes, including creating and maintaining records, advising on process improvements, and ensuring accurate data for outsourced payroll and pension providers.
  • Coordinate a wide range of payroll actions, including liaising with management, employees, and business partners, calculating salary amendments, and peer reviewing team pay actions for accuracy.
  • Provide professional advice and support to employees and managers on people-related processes and procedures.
  • Manage the People Department service management system, responding to employee requests and issues, and ensuring timely and GDPR-compliant responses.
  • Responsible for internal relocation processes, including reviewing relocation claims, issuing acceptance letters, and calculating relocation recovery for leavers.
  • Carry out new starter inductions, providing information on processes, systems, entitlements, benefits, and pension.
  • Process added years, AVCs, partial retirement, and retirement requests in line with UKAEA's pension scheme regulations.
  • Support employees with pension-related queries and calculations, liaising with the external pensions office.
  • Process maternity, paternity, adoption leave, and shared parental leave requests in line with UKAEA's and statutory regulations.
  • Support employees with reference letters for visa applications, mortgage applications, and employment references.
  • Responsible for monthly management of probation, half pay, missing sick notes, and unpaid leave in respect of UKAEA's terms and conditions.
  • Responsible for secure storage of personal data within Sharepoint and maintaining employee data in respect of annual leave balances and organisational restructures within the ERP system.
Requirements
  • Solid administration experience, ideally with HR or Payroll.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Competent IT and Excel skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
