We are excited to be recruiting for an ER Specialist to join our People Team at Connells Group HQ. Your primary objective will be to deliver a first-class customer-focused Employee Relations service by providing specialist support and advice, predominantly over the telephone, to colleagues throughout our business.
Key Responsibilities:- Employee Relations Case Management: Resolve and respond to employee relations-related queries escalated from the ER Advisory team, or via the ER Manager, ensuring all query resolutions are captured and resolved.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the other ER Specialists and ER Advisory team to apply relevant employee relations approaches and solutions, in line with our ER/People support model, to provide clarity and support to our Managers, business leaders, and teams.
- Coaching and Advice: Consistently deliver a professional and proactive approach, enabling managers to achieve their objectives through coaching and the provision of ER advice that is prompt, persuasive, effective, and evaluates risk. This will include areas such as Performance Management, Disciplinary, Grievance, Absence Management, Diversity, Tribunals, etc.
- Training and Development: Provide training to the ER Advisors, being a role model and offering support and guidance where appropriate.
- Policy Implementation: Support changes to and/or the implementation of any new ER policies and procedures, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure full understanding and embedding of new ways of working.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify trends and opportunities to improve the ER support and service for our people, working collaboratively with colleagues to use this insight to evolve and develop ER approaches and solutions.
- Employment Tribunal Support: Work closely with colleagues in the People Team, business teams for Employment Tribunal cases; gathering information, managing, and coordinating all activity required throughout the process.
- Organizational Change: Work in collaboration with our Group Organizational Change Team on Group-wide project implementation.
- Values and Behaviours: Act as a visible advocate and role model, creating an environment where our values are consistently demonstrated through your own and colleague's behaviours.
- Employee Relations Experience: Employee Relations case management experience, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, ill health, flexible working, redundancy, contractual changes, management of Employment Tribunal Claims.
- Coaching and Influencing: Ability to successfully coach and influence colleagues.
- Flexibility and Pragmatism: Flexibility and pragmatism and the ability to deal with ambiguity and changing circumstances, whilst maintaining focus on goals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-structured work.
- Decision-Making: The ability to make logical, well-balanced, and reasoned decisions.
