Postdoctoral Project Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Project Research Scientist to join our team at the Francis Crick Institute. The successful candidate will be part of our Cancer Evolution and Genome Instability Laboratory, led by Dr. Charles Swanton.

About the Role

The Postdoctoral Project Research Scientist will be responsible for driving the project forward using relevant experimental and computational approaches. This will involve:

  • Designing and executing experiments to investigate the role of cell lineage in lung cancer initiation and evolution
  • Analyzing next-generation sequencing data and spatial immunophenotyping data from patient samples
  • Collaborating with other researchers in the lab and with external partners to advance our understanding of lung tumor evolution
  • Contributing to the dissemination of scientific results through writing papers for publication and presenting at national and international meetings
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A PhD in cancer biology, evolutionary biology, epithelial cell biology, or a related field
  • Good knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas: cancer biology, cancer immunology, epithelial cell biology, evolutionary biology, genomics, or stem cell biology
  • Technical qualifications: expertise in mouse models, functional in vitro assays, and co-cultures, as well as experience with tissue histology and flow cytometry methods
  • A track record of writing papers as evidenced by publications or submitted manuscripts in referred journals
  • Evidence of data presentation at scientific meetings
