We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of User Experience to join our team at Tesco. As a key member of our design leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the development of our digital products and services, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of user experience.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a UX Team: Manage a team of designers and researchers, providing guidance and oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality UX solutions.
- Drive UX Strategy: Develop and implement UX strategies for key projects, working closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Define UX Vision: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and drive the user experience vision for projects, ensuring that it is aligned with business goals and customer needs.
- Accountable for UX Output: Oversee the delivery of UX output from your team, providing feedback and guidance to ensure that it meets the highest standards.
- Share Design Expertise: Share your design expertise and knowledge with other teams to improve organizational capability and drive design excellence.
- Collaborate with Developers: Work closely with developers to ensure that our digital products and services meet the highest standards of user experience.
- Consistent Experience: Collaborate with the single design language team to ensure consistent experience across Tesco's digital products and services.
- Build Relationships: Build trusted relationships with stakeholders based on agreed outcomes and credible roadmaps to release value incrementally.
- Collaborate with Director: Collaborate with your Director to understand future demand and direction, provide advice on team-related issues, and overall portfolio of products required to deliver against business strategy.
- Considerable Experience: Considerable experience as an interaction designer, design technologist, front-end designer, UI designer, or similar role.
- Expert-Level Knowledge: Expert-level knowledge in the fields of UX design, UX research, and visual design.
- Experience with Product and Technology Teams: Experience working with product and technology teams to deliver complex programs.
- Experience with Digital Channels: Experience helping develop and deliver experiences in digital channels.
- Conducting User Research: Experience conducting user/stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis, and user testing sessions, then creating recommendations that drive design strategy accordingly.
- Data-Driven Design: Strong experience with data-driven design and usage data analysis.
- Prototyping: Ability to create in-browser prototypes and POCs using modern front-end libraries.
- Front-End Processes: Knowledge of relevant front-end processes, standards, and libraries.
- Portfolio: Portfolio with examples of relevant work.
- Team Management: Experience managing and leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.
