Job Description

Job Title: Emerging Technology Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Emerging Technology Manager to lead our Emerging Tech & Research Team, identifying critical and emerging technology trends affecting financial services and translating them into tangible insights to inform regulatory and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Emerging Tech & Research Team, overseeing the development of innovative emerging technology research that impacts external policy and internal strategy.
  • Design and develop the FCA's emerging technologies work programme, driving strategic initiatives that address business needs and opportunities.
  • Ensure that emerging technology initiatives are integrated with wider FCA policy objectives as well as internal strategic opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Experience in working with technology analysis using foresight/horizon scanning techniques to deliver research on emerging or novel technology.
  • Experience of planning, prioritising and leading the delivery of work through others to time and quality standards, including managing or leading on more complex projects or assignments.
  • Proven ability to distil complex information and engage with details while considering the bigger picture and communicate research and analysis findings clearly and succinctly to target audiences.
  • Strong interest in technology, the individual will engage regularly with technical concepts and technology-focused stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of FCA tools and powers, the individual will need to consider how we might be able to use our tools and powers to support the policy development.
