Your role will involve underwriting general commercial accounts, primarily focusing on renewals while gradually taking on new business quotations as your expertise expands. You will collaborate with a select group of broker offices across the UK, handling premiums that range from SME levels up to approximately £40k.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct renewal underwriting for a designated portfolio of accounts.
  • Assist in the new business process, with the potential to become a key contributor as you gain experience.
  • Address day-to-day underwriting inquiries, ensuring a high standard of service to the broker offices.
  • Participate in risk management initiatives as necessary.

Essential Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Commercial Underwriting, whether with an insurer, MGA, or under a Delegated Authority.
  • Cert CII qualification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, emphasizing a positive attitude and proactive approach.
  • Strong attention to detail to maintain high underwriting standards.
