Civil Design Engineer

Our client, a leading international engineering consultancy, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their Defence team on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, supporting operations and future programs at client sites. The role involves working alongside other engineers to author, develop, assess, and maintain engineering design substantiation for a defence organization's nuclear facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Author and manage design substantiation documents
- Oversee civil design changes and concessions
- Present safety cases to committees
- Develop EIMT schedules and safety reviews
- Provide technical advice and conduct independent reviews
- Apply engineering knowledge in high-risk environments
- Justify civil/structural design modifications
- 5+ years of experience in design assessment for RC and steel structures, including dynamic loads, such as earthquakes, blasts, and wind.
- Experience with RC and steelwork marine structures and jetties.
- Skilled in applying theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, and manage engineering processes in nuclear/high-risk environments.
- Strong foundation in general and specialist engineering knowledge, utilizing both existing and emerging technologies.
