About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Worker to join our Crisis Recovery Service. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside clients to achieve their personal recovery goals in a non-judgmental and supportive manner.
  • Provide responsive support to clients through face-to-face, virtual, and telephone-based interactions.
  • Support clients in accessing statutory services, including psychological interventions.
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of community resources and partner organizations to signpost clients and promote social inclusion.
  • Empower clients to gain a sense of control over their lives, engage with their local communities, and build connections and a sense of belonging.
  • Support clients in gaining satisfaction in different aspects of their lives.
  • Live the values of Peer Support as described in the PSW Competency Framework 2020.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience or knowledge of community mental health services, whether through lived experience or work. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with individuals who have difficulties with their mental health in a supportive and beneficial way.
