Job Title: Site Technical Manager (Maternity Cover)

Vickerstock is delighted to be working with our Food Manufacturing client, a company passionate about their people and committed to becoming the best and most respected in their industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Site Technical Manager to join their team on a maternity cover basis, with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Site Director and Head of Technical, you will have full responsibility for all technical aspects of the site, demonstrating leadership skills across all site functions.
  • Ensure that the physical site and its operation provide for food safety & quality, consistently meet Customer and legal requirements, and work towards best practice.
  • Develop and implement a HACCP based quality system, ensuring required approvals (typically BRC and customer standards) are achieved and food quality/safety/integrity/legality standards are consistently met.
  • Manage and develop succession plans for the technical team, including recruitment, training, and performance monitoring.
  • Work closely with the Product Innovation and Development Manager and Operational team to agree and manage the Site Product Innovation and Development Technologist's objectives/KPIs.

Requirements:

  • 3rd Level qualification in a relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in successful people management.
  • Quality Management experience.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Working knowledge of BRC Standards, HACCP, Food Legislation, and codes of practice for major UK retailers.
