Site Technical Manager (Maternity Cover)

Vickerstock is delighted to be working with our Food Manufacturing client, a company passionate about their people and committed to becoming the best and most respected in their industry. We are seeking a Site Technical Manager (Maternity Cover) for their site in Craigavon.

About the Role

As Site Technical Manager, you will report to the Site Director and Head of Technical. You will be responsible for all technical aspects of the site, demonstrating leadership skills across all site functions. Your key objectives will be to ensure that the physical site and its operation provide for food safety & quality, consistently meet Customer and legal requirements, and work towards best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the site Technical Policy, in line with Group Standards and policies, providing input into the overall business strategy and Food Safety, Quality & Integrity goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of a HACCP based quality system, such that, as a minimum, required approvals (typically BRC and customer standards) are achieved and food quality/safety/integrity/legality standards are consistently met.
  • Audit the factory environment and activities to enable full assessment of standards being achieved and any weaknesses to be identified.
  • Manage and develop succession plans for the technical team, including recruitment and selection, training and development, performance monitoring, counselling and disciplining.
  • Ensure Quality Management experience and working knowledge of BRC Standards, HACCP, Food Legislation and codes of practice for major UK retailers.
