Position Overview:

Our esteemed client, a prominent financial institution, is seeking to onboard a Senior Java Engineer for a long-term contractual engagement. This role is integral to the Trade and Transaction Reporting IT Team (T&TR), which is dedicated to the support and maintenance of a suite of shared services within the organization. Given the dynamic nature of regulatory frameworks, it is imperative to enhance and sustain the T&TR solution to align with the evolving mandates from external regulatory authorities.

This position necessitates a thorough examination of business requirements in conjunction with third-party Global Trade Repository specifications and regulatory stipulations to ensure comprehensive compliance. This includes accuracy in reporting content, adherence to message specifications, and timely submissions.

The solutions developed must conform to our strategic architecture, which is service-oriented, as we progressively transition reporting solutions from legacy systems to modern platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers and engage with global colleagues on Java-based microservices and Kubernetes environments.
  • Oversee the software development lifecycle for the modifications you implement.
  • Address remediation tasks efficiently, ensuring quick and safe turnaround of minor incremental fixes.
  • Maintain the codebase, addressing defects, vulnerabilities, and enhancements.
  • Support Operations in remediation efforts through tooling and by enhancing existing capabilities.
  • Coordinate with Asset Class IT teams to elevate the quality of input data and safeguard the T&TR solution from unnecessary complexities.
  • Work within a defined POD structure with a clear charter.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess substantial experience as a Java Engineer, particularly with microservices or Kubernetes. While experience in the financial services sector is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

Compensation: The position offers a competitive daily rate, and candidates will be required to work onsite for a portion of the week while enjoying flexibility for remote work.
