Job Purpose

The successful candidate will support adult survivors of childhood abuse in Scotland, helping them to achieve a safe and healthy life, with improved wellbeing and increased trust in their support and relationships. • Encourage survivors to take an active part in activities within their community.
  • Contribute to reviews as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team around each survivor, where appropriate.
  • Support the development of wellbeing practices, linking with local services, and managing independent living.
  • Link survivors to support groups/organizations in their community and help them attend, where practical.
  • Assist with the completion of statistical returns, providing information for report writing as required by the funding team.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults or providing care/support to individuals with complex needs.
  • Ability to relate to survivors and build and sustain relationships with them.
  • HNC in Social Care, SVQ Level 3 in Care, or equivalent, or the ability to undertake the HNC and SVQ Level 3 Social Care.
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is required, with preference given to those candidates who are already eligible for unconditional registration.
  • Candidates must be able to participate fully in mandatory training.
  • Possess a full driving license and be willing and able to drive provided transport.
  • A flexible approach to work, including shift work, will be required to support the needs of survivors. Occasional travel throughout Scotland may be necessary to fulfill the remit of the post.
