About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Architect to join our team at Oliver Bernard. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of our technology solutions and working closely with our CTO to drive technical strategy and innovation.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a genuine impact on the direction of our company. As the first Principal Architect to join our business, you will have a significant influence on our technical approach and will be heavily involved in shaping our engineering practices and system architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of our technology solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with our CTO to develop and implement technical strategy, driving innovation and growth.
  • Oversee a team of Software Engineers and Architects, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their success.
  • Develop and maintain effective software engineering practices and technologies, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices.
  • Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency, mission-critical systems, leveraging expertise in Java OO Language, service-oriented architecture, enterprise messaging solutions, and relational database design.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, including AWS/Amazon Web Services, and ensure our solutions are optimized for cloud deployment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Principal Architect or Principal Engineer, with a strong track record of designing system architecture and leading technical teams.
  • Solid experience in senior technology leadership roles, such as Lead Solutions Architect, Senior Principal Engineer, or Senior Staff Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of building high-throughput, low-latency, mission-critical systems, with expertise in Java OO Language, service-oriented architecture, enterprise messaging solutions, and relational database design.
  • Expertise in cloud technology, including AWS/Amazon Web Services.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate technical teams.
