Security Operations Specialist

Position Summary:
The Security Operations Specialist is integral to the retail operations team, providing essential security and loss prevention support by ensuring a visible security presence and performing regular security inspections throughout the sales area.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome customers as they enter and exit the premises while managing access to the facility Foster a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all patrons through effective communication and collaboration with the retail team Oversee all store activities and promptly address any security and safety concerns Aid in minimizing loss and safeguarding assets by upholding robust operational protocols Participate in all store meetings and events Build and maintain professional relationships with external stakeholders to ensure all parties are informed with relevant updates, including local law enforcement, mall security, and other retailers Ensure compliance with all safety protocols during fire alarms and emergency situations Evaluate and assist in the development of security measures for the store, including emergency response strategies Complete and submit incident reports, health and safety evaluations, operational control checklists, and action plans Conduct security assessments aimed at preventing property loss Provide training for new hires and ongoing employee education to enhance store loss prevention awareness Support initiatives to uphold brand standards in delivery and merchandising practices Collaborate with the Senior Loss Prevention Manager to influence brand strategies for loss mitigation Maintain standards for all security equipment within the storeCandidate Profile:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a security role within a retail environment Strong understanding of workplace safety and emergency protocols Previous experience in Loss Prevention is preferred Valid first aid and CPR certifications are required Possession of a Security Guard License, or willingness to obtain necessary licensing Team-oriented individual with a demonstrated growth mindset Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Strong record-keeping, report writing, and observational skills Exceptional judgment and decision-making capabilitiesAdditional Insights:
