Job SummaryThe successful candidate will lead bid management and tendering activities, working closely with sales teams to develop proposals and participate in response strategies. They will be responsible for qualifying needs, analysing specifications, and identifying feasibility and profitability criteria. The Bid Manager will also manage the response to calls for tender, working in collaboration with Product and R&D teams to identify and promote solutions to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage bid responses, working closely with sales teams and internal stakeholders.
- Qualify needs and analyse specifications to identify feasibility and profitability criteria.
- Manage the response to calls for tender, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
- Collaborate with Product and R&D teams to identify and promote solutions to meet customer needs.
- Compile response documents, including financial offers, analysis of contractual clauses, and technical offers.
- Collect and analyse cost elements, including equipment, development, support, maintenance, licenses, and risk assessment.
- Prepare and participate in presentations and client meetings.
- Organise and participate in the transfer of knowledge of the offer to the project team.
- Develop a high level of knowledge and understanding of the Flowbird portfolio of solutions.
- Take full responsibility for the evaluation and preparation of bids, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
- Proven experience and success in Bid Management (minimum 3-5 years).
- Experience in B2B and B2G formal tendering processes.
- Core skills: comfortable with drafting tender briefs, managing and coordinating multidisciplinary teams, comfortable working in a corporate environment, organised with a structured approach to bid response activities, excellent relationship skills both internally and externally.
- Behavioural factors: ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, resilient and persistent, excellent organisation and communication skills.
The position will be based out of Flowbird UK's Head Office in Poole, Dorset, with a minimum of three days per week attendance required. The position may require travel throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.
