About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Support Specialist to join our team at a specialist school in West Sussex. As a Maths Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' learning and development, both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with Mathematics, up to and including GCSE level, in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver differentiated learning materials that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group interventions to enhance students' understanding of key mathematical concepts and promote their confidence in the subject.
  • Support students with special educational needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum, in their learning journey and help them achieve their full potential.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, reporting on their development and identifying areas for further support.
Candidate Requirements
  • A strong knowledge of Maths, up to GCSE level, with A-level Maths or equivalent qualification desirable.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum, is desirable but not essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed are essential qualities for this role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff are required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic school environment are essential.
