About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a specialism in GCSE Maths to join our dynamic team at a specialist school in West Sussex. This school provides exceptional education for students aged 11-19 diagnosed with autism spectrum conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in GCSE Mathematics, ensuring their understanding and engagement.
  • Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lesson plans and learning resources.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group interventions to reinforce key mathematical concepts.
  • Tailor support for students with autism spectrum conditions, helping them overcome learning challenges.
  • Monitor student progress and report on development to help shape ongoing support strategies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment where all students feel supported in their educational journey.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Strong proficiency in Maths (up to GCSE level), with an A-level in Maths or equivalent being a plus.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, especially those on the autism spectrum (desirable but not essential).
  • A genuine passion for helping students succeed, with patience, empathy, and adaptability.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work effectively in a vibrant school environment.
