Government Relations Specialist

Transport for Wales is seeking a highly skilled Government Relations Manager to lead our government relations with the UK and Welsh Governments.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert advice on government affairs, drafting and reviewing correspondence with UK and Welsh Governments.
- Lead the development and delivery of events, producing briefings for Ministers, TfW Board Members, and the Executive Leadership Team.
- Draft weekly updates for Ministers and officials, working across TfW to identify and develop positive stories to raise the profile and trust of TfW.
- Deliver robust programmes, including meetings and targeted communications, to inform Welsh Government of TfW developments and ensure trust and confidence in our capabilities.
- Extensive experience working in the public sector and with government officials and Ministers.
- Understanding of Welsh and UK Government procedures and protocols, as well as the political environment in Wales and England.
- Ability to lead on the development and delivery of materials to inform the wider business of best practice approaches and government requirements.
- Demonstrable experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships and communicating with a wide range of colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
The ability to speak/write Welsh would be a great asset, but it is not essential for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language and encourages employees to develop and improve their Welsh Language skills.
