Tax Accountant Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team at Reed. As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building relationships and interacting with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise.
  • Meeting with clients to gather information and explain options and their implications in simple terms.
  • Researching, analysing and interpreting changing tax legislation in both the UK and overseas.
  • Liaising and negotiating with HMRC on behalf of the client.
  • Creating tax strategies for clients and planning their financial futures.
  • Carrying out detailed computations to calculate tax liability and advising on how to minimise a client's liability.
  • Establishing and structuring family trusts.
  • Estate planning and advising on tax residence and domicile matters.
  • Drafting of Wills and Power of Attorney documentation.
  • Providing guidance on indirect taxation issues such as VAT, customs planning and environmental taxes.
  • Producing reports and presentations for clients.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Tax based role.
  • Ideally ACCA qualified.
  • A logical and analytical mind.
  • The ability to interpret and explain complex legislation to non-specialists.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
