Job Title: Lead Event Coordinator

The University of Reading is seeking a highly organized and motivated Lead Event Coordinator to join our Venue Reading team. As a key member of our events service team, you will be responsible for generating and supervising the conference, events, and function business, ensuring that all events are developed with optimum efficiency and profitable utilization of the University's facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate a variety of events to maximize revenue generation for the University by matching client requirements to University facilities.
  • Work closely with the Event Manager and Head of Events and Conference Operations to successfully manage the portfolio of events throughout the year.
  • Develop and implement effective event management strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality events that meet the University's commercial and academic priorities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless event execution and delivery.
Requirements:
  • Experience in event management, preferably in a higher education or commercial setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and stick to deadlines, with a high level of organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of conference business trends and the ability to apply this knowledge to drive business growth.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
