About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is on the lookout for a nurturing and committed Supportive Pastoral Educator to become a vital part of a dynamic school environment in Liverpool. This role is perfect for individuals who are enthusiastic about fostering students' emotional and social growth, aiding them in reaching their utmost potential within a caring and encouraging setting.
As a Supportive Pastoral Educator, your responsibilities will include working closely with students, offering both individual and group assistance to tackle various challenges, including behavioral, emotional, and academic hurdles. You will collaborate with teaching staff and other support professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to each student's development. Your contribution will be crucial in cultivating a positive and inclusive school culture where every student feels appreciated and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pastoral support to students, assisting them in overcoming obstacles to learning.
- Engage with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, addressing emotional, social, and behavioral challenges.
- Help in the creation and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Communicate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Track and report on students' progress, identifying areas for further intervention.
- Encourage a safe and positive learning atmosphere, promoting student engagement and participation.
- Support the implementation of PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic) education and other relevant programs.
- Assist with general classroom duties and administrative tasks as needed.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in a pastoral, teaching assistant, or similar capacity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A genuine commitment to supporting the emotional and social development of young individuals.
- Ability to manage challenging behavior with patience and understanding.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Enhanced DBS check and on the update service (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, counseling, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a school environment.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
