Part-Time Asset Valuation Technician – Flexible Schedule
Location: Matlock/Hybrid
Salary: £16,504 - £19,877 per annum
An exciting opportunity has emerged within the Estates Team for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to assist in the council's essential Asset Valuation operations.
Your role will encompass a range of asset valuation and administrative duties related to estates, including ensuring data integrity.
You will collaborate with a small group of committed surveyors to guarantee that the estates assets are accurately valued and reported to the council's Finance Department by the conclusion of each financial year.
Key Responsibilities for the Asset Valuation Team:
Comprehensive training will be provided for the following responsibilities:
Regularly tracking the team's valuation progress throughout the financial year, including creating spreadsheets and visual data representations for Senior Asset Valuers and Management. Overseeing the council's Property Change Notifications and maintaining the associated spreadsheet. Distributing workload among surveyors based on their progress and home locations. Serving as a liaison between the Asset Valuers and the Data Team regarding all provided data and inspection tasks. Conducting occasional photographic inspections of the council's land assets as directed by the valuers. Ensuring data quality assurance prior to the submission of valuation spreadsheets to Finance.There will also be opportunities for professional growth within the broader estates department, assisting colleagues with various estates-related tasks.
Required Skills and Experience:
A basic to intermediate proficiency in Excel is essential, and candidates will be required to complete a simple Excel spreadsheet assessment during the interview process to demonstrate their capabilities. Familiarity with Intranet, Teams, and council/company server filing systems. Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and self-driven with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Confidence to manage multiple tasks under pressure and prioritize effectively. Strong interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail while working efficiently. Desirable - Experience with mapping software, aerial imagery, and various estates-related issues. Successful candidates should possess the ability to travel for occasional outdoor assignments.Benefits Offered:
