Analyst - Strategic Asset Allocation in Wealth Management

Position Overview & Responsibilities
The Investment Strategy Group (ISG), part of the Asset & Wealth Management Division at Goldman Sachs, specializes in delivering tailored asset allocation strategies to assist clients in safeguarding and enhancing their wealth.
The primary role of the selected candidate will involve crafting personalized asset allocation strategies and conducting thorough analyses for our clientele. The individual will collaborate closely with team members and
private wealth advisors to collect client data, evaluate client portfolios, create bespoke asset allocation strategies, and compile analyses for client presentations. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to the team's research initiatives, which typically focus on asset allocation modeling and specific asset classes. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the development of customized asset allocation strategies utilizing the ISG asset allocation model
- Producing tailored research reports and presentations for clients
- Supporting research efforts related to asset allocation challenges and specific asset classes
- Offering asset allocation insights to the Private Wealth Management team
- Performing general administrative tasks, including maintaining presentations, data, and meeting records
Essential Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to convey complex technical concepts in straightforward terms
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with clients
- Detail-oriented, patient, and capable of managing multiple tasks under pressure
- Team-oriented with the ability to follow directives and execute tasks with sound judgment
- Independent, logical, and critical thinker, with a propensity for innovative problem-solving
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical abilities, with a minimum undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline or quantitative field, such as Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Machine Learning, or Computer Science. An undergraduate degree in Economics is also acceptable if paired with a quantitative postgraduate degree in Finance
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (preferably Python); strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Highly driven and eager to acquire new knowledge
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Master’s degree in Finance with a quantitative emphasis (financial mathematics, quantitative finance, financial engineering, financial econometrics)
- Strong interest in financial markets and sound investment acumen
- Awareness of current academic research and industry standards
- Proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous
