Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Unplanned Care Therapy Team at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to patients in our busy A&E and Assessment areas.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with complex needs, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement training programs for occupational therapy staff, students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance to excel in their roles.
  • Participate in departmental audits, research, and service development activities, contributing to the improvement of patient care and services.
  • Provide senior therapy support to inpatient teams, ensuring seamless care transitions and effective communication.

Person Specification
  • Graduate Diploma or BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification recognised by HCPC (or student Occupational Therapist with qualification pending)
  • HCPC registration
  • Appropriate experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist
  • Core Rotations as a Band 5 Therapist in a range of core areas: Orthopaedics, Medical or Frailty Inpatients, Neurological Rehabilitation
  • Previous care experience
