Cooling System Engineer

Caterpillar is seeking a skilled Cooling System Engineer to join our Engine Systems Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cooling systems for our Back Hoe Loader, Compact Wheel Loader, and Telehandler products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish cooling system requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal system design.
  • Develop and implement cooling system installation designs, including fan selection and shroud design.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal purchasing resources to source high-performance cooling system components.
  • Lead cooling system validation activities, including test planning, data analysis, and post-processing test data.
  • Resolve any issues found during development or on customer machines with robust and fully validated solutions.
Requirements:
  • Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use tools and techniques to analyze data and determine root causes.
  • Strong knowledge of computer-aided design and engineering, with experience in producing, analyzing, simulating, and testing product design drafts.
  • Product design and development expertise, with the ability to design, build, and develop new products from concept to production.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and collaborate with international teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in leading cooling system design from concept to production.
  • Strong knowledge of Back Hoe Loaders, Compact Wheel Loaders, or Telehandlers.
  • Knowledge of engines and engine installation design.

Caterpillar offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of £45,000-£54,000 depending on experience, plus a 10% bonus, flexible benefits, and a contributory pension scheme. We also offer a range of training and development opportunities to help you grow your career.
