About the Role:
Caterpillar is seeking a skilled Cooling System Engineer to join our Building Construction Products Division Engine Systems Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cooling systems for our Back Hoe Loader, Compact Wheel Loader, and Telehandler products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish cooling system requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal system design.
- Develop and implement cooling system installation designs, including fan selection and shroud design.
- Work closely with suppliers and internal purchasing resources to source high-performance and cost-effective cooling system components.
- Lead all cooling system validation activities, including analysis, test planning, and data analysis.
- Resolve any issues found during development or on customer machines with robust and fully validated solutions.
Requirements:
- Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use tools and techniques to analyze data and determine the root cause of complex technical problems.
- Strong knowledge of computer-aided design and engineering, with the ability to produce, analyze, simulate, and test product design drafts.
- Experience in product design and development, with the ability to design, build, and develop new products from concept through to production.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and collaborate with international teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in leading cooling system design from concept to production.
- Strong knowledge of Back Hoe Loaders, Compact Wheel Loaders, or Telehandlers.
- Knowledge of engines and engine installation design.
