Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property and Contracts Officer to join our team at Probus Recruitment Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and negotiating complex legal agreements with various stakeholders, providing contractual support for consultancy, collaborative agreements, IP, and commercialization as required by the IP and Commercialisation Team.

This role will provide support and advice to the IP and Commercialisation Team regarding contracts received from external stakeholders and project teams, ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures, as well as funder conditions and guidance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Tech Transfer/Industry operations and be able to coordinate their work with the Research and Legal Contracts Officers as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, NDAs, consultancy agreements, IP licenses, and assignments.
  • Negotiating commercial contracts and procuring legal services.
  • Providing contractual support for consultancy, collaborative agreements, IP, and commercialization.
  • Ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures, as well as funder conditions and guidance.
Requirements
  • Degree in Law, PgDip in Legal Practice (or equivalent).
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Strong understanding of Tech Transfer/Industry operations.
