We are seeking a visionary leader to join our College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as the Head of School for the School of Social Sciences. As a key member of our Executive Group, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our academic school and driving our inclusive and sustainable agenda.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the School of Social Sciences in achieving its strategic objectives, including education, research and knowledge exchange, employability, and global engagement.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for the School, aligned with the University's strategic plan.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, students, and external partners to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality academic programs, ensuring they meet the needs of our students and the wider community.
- Drive research and knowledge exchange initiatives, promoting interdisciplinary and industry-engaged practice in criminology, politics and international relations, psychology, and sociology.
- Ensure the School's performance is measured and evaluated against key performance indicators, informing strategic decision-making and improvement.
As Head of School, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the School of Social Sciences and the University of Westminster. You will be part of a thriving academic community, working with talented colleagues and students to drive innovation and excellence.
The term of office as Head of School is for a period of five years, at which time the position will be reviewed with the possibility of extension for a further two-year fixed period. Following completion of the term of office, the postholder will revert to a substantive permanent post within the School.
