About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our fast-paced Catering team at Taunton School. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, and providing excellent support to our catering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen, including the preparation and storage of food and equipment.
  • Support the catering team with food preparation, service, and presentation.
  • Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are met, and that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with the unloading and storing of heavy food deliveries, and maintain a high level of physical fitness to meet the demands of this role.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an operational catering position is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings, and to take on new responsibilities as necessary.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
